Four hours a day standing...wow, the endurance is truly astounding.

And apparently still young enough that the doctor predicts it will die young, in the fucking future. THis tub is probably under thirty and already broken down.

"...and cried for half an hour"

That seems to be all of their responses when confronted with reality. These things are just pathetic.

They've got the free time.

I wish Ben Garrison would do an obese woman being supported by tiny tiny policemen and firemen and lady doctors and construction workers, and have her feeders and allies on one side and logic on the other. She'd be spitting/barking orders with food bits flying. It'd truly be obscene.

I'm a doctor. I've heard of health at every size and it appalls me, much like anti-vaxxers and homeopathy appall me.

Specifically, I'm an orthopedic surgery resident so I see a lot of patients coming in with knee pain. If it went down exactly as this obeast is claiming (which I highly doubt) then yes, the doctor she saw definitely had shortcomings if he didn't bother with a thorough physical examination and an x-ray at the very least. But guess what, if an obese patient comes in with knee pain then I will do a bunch of PE maneuvers and request an x-ray and maybe some lab tests, and at the end of it all regardless of the results I will still tell you to lose weight.

So shut up, you sad sack of lard wasting that doctor's time, it's not thin privilege that's the problem here. Fat consequence is not being able to see the doctor without crying in your car afterwards.

(Also could someone kindly explain to me why these greased-up idiots keep crying in their car? Shopping- cry in car after. Go to doctor- cry in car after. Eat out- cry ad nausea.)

I'm not certain you would be sent to have an X-ray just because you said you had knee pain as a minimum, pretty sure X-ray's are avoided because of the increased risk of cancer developing (however minor it may be).

Lotta osteosarcoma starts near the knee (rare but bad to miss), joint space loss and labs could suggest RA/connective tissue disease, and a surprising number are walking around (albeit poorly) w a small fracture from trauma they didn't tell you about. Xray is a good thing.

Mild abdominal pain, a young person isn't getting a CT right away, risk of cancer is much higher with CT.

Every pound of excess weight exerts about 4 pounds of extra pressure on the knees. So a person who is 10 pounds overweight has 40 pounds of extra pressure on his knees; if a person is 100 pounds overweight, that is 400 pounds of extra pressure on his knees.

But, no... HAES!

Just curious, do you have a source for that?

Lovely story, likely horseshit. Still, I could imagine the doctor diagnosing the issue just from the sound of cartilage rattling like a bag full of dice.
