Thanks for this, I work in a liquor store and people don't realize how much shit we get into if we take something that's not valid, and they send secret shoppers at least once a week with all kinds of things wrong to test us. I had a $600 fine once because I didn't make someone go back to their car to get a second piece, as she was all kinds of flustered and said she was in a huge rush and I stupidly told her ok as she definitely looked old enough but still under 30. I'm not making that mistake again, and people get SO mad at me if I refuse them for not having ID.

However, the guy in OP's story is a stupid fuck for not knowing her ID was real.

One time wouldn't hurt, probably, but repeatedly kicking out legal-age customers would be bad for business, especially if word spreads.
