I lived in Mumbai(I'm of mixed pedigree) for a while, space issues there as well but so many fat people. Never been to Japan and can't believe there are fat Japanese, such a shitlording culture and some manage to get fat. But a very small percentile of the population right?

The fatty epidemic spreads everywhere, but most Japanese citizens know how to control portions, exercise, and resist America's attempts to bring fast food into the culture. The obesity rate here is about 3 percent. (Source for those interested:http://www.oecd.org/els/health-systems/Obesity-Update-2014.pdf) Compared to America's 33+. It is hard to get to that size in Japan. We walk every single day. Food can be very expensive (especially restaurants), and the portions are much smaller. It's just not economical at all the be fat here. Here's the big thing though and this is why Japan is successful: It's basically illegal to be obese here. It's called the Metabo Law. The government has a maximum waist measurement that is allowed. Once you go above that, you are "recommended to join" (read:put into without much choice into) a program to lose it. It's not technically a criminal offense, but you are put into a weightloss program, and companies are fined for overweight employees. Which means the company would rather drop the extra weight. Unfortunately, America does not have that. America is too concerned about hurting fee fees.

this is the dream for any shitlord. here we only have a law that bans skinny (sub bmi 18) models, which I personally don't agree with at all.

I can't even comprehend. Honestly wasn't aware of this law. And yes Japan is dangerously expensive so getting fat is not at all economical. The obese are going to single handedly destroy the American economy, just look at what a literal burden they are to the world they live in, and the government seems to encourage it.
