The counter argument is that with a majority fat and lazy populace, the roads are clogged with delivery vehicles and loads more greenhouse gasses are emitted. Just anecdotally, the filthy fats on my road get absolutely everything seemingly delivered. So what we might win with keeping them at bay and housebound, we currently lose in the long run in other ways. Is it a fair trade off? Currently I'd argue yes, but as the trend continues... house kept shut-ins will be a big problem for societies other than the companies sending a van round to deliver a longer wiping implement.
