So a Duluth Trading Company opened up relatively nearby. For those of you who don't know, this is a company that makes flannels and work clothes, and clothes that are generally supposed to be a higher quality and more comfortable. My boyfriend loves these clothes, and I get them for him often for Christmas and such, but this brick and mortar store just opened up so we decided to take a trip up there. Their mascot is a fat guy, but I really just thought it was a joke?
Holy shit everyone was fat. Like, not even just a little chubby, but huuuge fat. I was actually surprised. My boyfriend and I and even our son were the only normal sized people there. My son wanted to play on the product look up computer because another kid was, and the ham mom actually snatched her kid up and left when I put my son on the stool.
My boyfriend was looking at the firehose pants he likes, and I walked up and jokingly said "do they even have a 30" x 34"?" which is a hard size for us to find in store anyway, and he told me the smallest size waist they had in stock was a 34. I guess 34" could be in the normal range for some people, but every store always has a 30" waist.
I don't know, I guess it just shocked me that out of 30 people in the store, we were the only healthy people, employees included. We were being stared at the whole time, it made me very uncomfortable. I probably won't go back there and just order his clothes online since they don't carry his size anyway.

It's a "big and tall" (fat) store for work clothes, that is all. A nicer name and better quality clothes. It's not for normal people.

Stuff like this is why I fail to believe "only" 75% of the population is overweight. Simply going outside would appear to disprove that stat.

Uniqlo, CK, or bust.

These are not work clothes stores. Carharrt, and Dickies would be better bets

Uniqlo sells flannel.
What does "work clothes" mean to you?

It's getting impossible to find normal sized clothing now. Fat privalege is being able to find clothes that fit you everywhere.

Haha. I remember when fats claimed that this was "thin privilege."

They've taken our privalege. Those fuckers

I love their shirts. You can get a large with just a bit extra length. Larges look good on me, but I've got a wide back and shoulders, so when I lift my arms over my head, it exposes my stomach. Not so with their shirts. But I agree, they could cater to fats quite a bit less.

Yeah, I got a surprise when I went to their website looking for flannel lined pants and the smallest waist they carried ONLINE was 32. And I'm betting it's not really 32.
