I used to use gallon milk jugs full of water for weights. Some people just need to quit complaining and get creative.

Just looked around a bit on Home Depot. 1/2"x48" steel rod for 7 bucks. Add milk jugs filled with sand/gravel/whatever, some duct tape and you've got yourself a bench press set for 12-15 bucks tops. Four 2-gallon jugs add up to ~30.3 litres, fill that with sand and you're at ~90 lbs. More than enough for an untrained person to bench/squat/dl with for a few months.

I did exactly this before I could afford a proper squat rack. I used square tube, 11L water bottles, sand, and it sat on top of milk crates. It cost me maybe $20 in total and had a capacity of over 100kg. This shit isn't hard when you're goal is to do, not make excuses.
