Am I the only person scrolling waiting to see a picture when she was "anorexic." Oh wait, there are none. Shocking.

She was anorexic when she didn't eat anything for a whole 2 hours.

As soon as I saw the phrase, "growing up a plus size girl" I realized she was never actually anorexic. She just went from having an appropriate amount of shame for her gluttony to having none. What a waste of air.

Came to say exactly that. But maybe we just don't understand the definition of the word anorexic? Maybe the world is flat?

Nope. Wanted to see the fit2fat and was disappointed. That thing was never anorexic.

Maybe she just doesn't want to look back at her dark, anorexic past. I can relate; I used to be a firetruck because that's what our society tells little boys they should strive to be. But frankly it just wasn't healthy, I was always covered in red paint and getting hit by cars when I ran around making siren noises in the street. Eventually I overcame my struggle but I don't have any pictures of myself back then either. I just don't want to be reminded of my days as a very real firetruck that I definitely was

It's from all of the anorexias.

It never had anorexia. It says that it was chubby all through her childhood and teenage years. You do not count as anorexic if you are not losing any weight. You have to stop eating for that. Skipping one meal is not the same as having anorexia. These fats that want to walk around talking about overcoming anorexia as though they deserve a badge for suffering through a diet soda once while simultaneously living a lifestyle that is equally unhealthy to being anorexic is disgusting. They have the nerve to say that their bodies should be celebrated. Disgusting.

I think it's confusing anorexia with feeling appropriate shame about its lack of self control and it's appearance. Anorexic people actually take action to change their body though, right?

Perfect comment, well worded and great points.

The fat brain spends more time churning out excuses and searching for validation than doing anything. Claiming to be a recovering anorexic is their perfect situation. They can use this for pity, praise and an excuse to be pigs. The fat brain doesn't comprehend empathy for others so it sees no harm in taking a serious, debilitating disorder and using it as a shield from any judgement for their lifestyle.

I know that if I were anorexic and saw this as an example of a recovery story, I would relapse in a heartbeat. Fats don't know the damage they do when they pretend to be anorexic.

"It's pretty easy to balance looking glamorous with having kids." Yea, except when you weigh over 300 pounds. Having dealt with Anorexia in my life, I find this offensive :/.

I'm really sorry, seriously. I've never known anyone personally with an ED, so I am ignorant about it. But I can't imagine how it must feel to see these greedy, attention whoring, disgusting animals doing shit like this for pitty points. If it was you who dealt with it yourself, then I'm very happy for you, and I wish you all the best.

Thank you very much for this :) that's kind of you to say.

I'm sorry you have had to deal with those demons. I've never had an ED, but I've had clinical depression since I was 12 and it sucks. It pisses me off to no end when fats trivialize any type of mental illness, especially eating disorders.

I see you're new around here... if you're interested, mod @Leelem0n runs an ED support group here on Voat: /v/fuckeatingdisorders

Wish I could say this to it:

You did not have anorexia. Anorexics are thin and think they're fat. You are fat and think you're fat. That's called a realistic perspective. The shame, doubt, sadness and regret you feel are normal and healthy. When you "overcome" hamorexia and think you're ok when you're fat, THAT'S the mental illness. That's the body dysmorphia. And when you decide to keep eating? That's the eating disorder.

To them, aneroxia is skipping breakfast and lunch. You know, what lots of people do normally every day without really thinking about it.

It's a tumblr self-diagnosis, for sure. "This one week, in high school, I took a massive shit and went from 250 down to 245. I felt so disgusted and sick with myself. I felt my ED controlling my life. So I got help."

Why does it look like it's catching a whiff of itself in every picture?

Either that or it's starving. Or it could be the discomfort in it's joints and hips from standing there for a few minutes with the weight of three people.

One of my biggest pet peeves is someone who's fat saying that they "overcame" anorexia. As though somehow eating in excess is the goal or something. For people who are literally afraid to gain weight, it's really scary to think that being "cured"= getting fat. Anorexia and obesity are both unhealthy and the fact that someone is flaunting the latter and saying it's an "improvement" is disgusting.
