I've dealt with car shaming mechanics virtually my entire life. They refuse to look beyond the error codes and immediately assume sludge buildup. I've had my current car for 8 years and the engine has performed poorly for at least 6 of them. I know it's not related to sludge because I've never had to change the oil the entire time I've owned the vehicle - 61,000 miles and counting. Anytime I visit a new mechanic, I make it a point to ask "what would cause this sluggish performance in a car without sludge buildup?" But every one of them just takes one measly glance under the hood and blames it on sludge. I've taken my car to dozens of shops and I think I finally found a decent mechanic, one who took the time to really inspect my entire vehicle to work out the issues. So far, I've spent thousands of dollars replacing air filters, floor mats, taillight fluids, flux capacitors, even tried different interior scents. Haven't found the culprit yet, but I know this guy is working his hardest to work with me and figure things out. You don't have to settle for a car shaming mechanic. Take your business to somebody car positive. They do exist!

I'm sure the 300 gallons of extra fuel in the back seat didn't have anything to do with the brakes wearing out.

Not everyone can just dump their excess fuel. The fuel is a symptom, not a problem. And with gas stations on every corner, how could you not just go in and top off every block? Do you want the engine to seize and run out of gas?

Hey, HEY!

Just because you're carrying around a few extra liters of blinker fluid in your f-150 doesn't mean you shouldn't be treated like a corvette. I'm sure you'll find a nice miata or top thrill dragster to race you any day now!

Don't you ever let some stranger tell you your brake pads are dangerously thin! The Brake Pad Mass Index was created by some archaic hungarian "scientist".

Don't forget to change your gender fluid time to time.

I knew someone would bring up those damn gender fluids! You worry about your own damn gender fluids. Mine don't affect anyone but me!

Just switch to tranny fluid, it's gender neutral.

I'm so sorry he shammed you. This is defiantly not your fault. Plus what does some mechanic know about your car anyway, its not like he even knows how your car drives or anything. Honestly I would look for another mechanic that doesn't bring up these kinds of things to you. How dare he...

Please tell me you used "defiantly" instead of "definitely" on porpoise.
