That means he took the reins of his life and health the exact moment he was removed away from his parents. A bit late, but I don't know his family circumstances and he clearly has developed self-discipline, so I'll still blame the parents on this one.

If a fat child starts the way to health the exact moment he or she is removed from their parent's presence, it's clearly the parents' fault.

Agreed, it is clear that his parents where a bad influence. I assume that moving out of his parent house has also given him a sense of responsibility.

I used to weigh 330 lbs I decided to lose weight at 17 and by 19 I weighed and still stay in the lower 220s. My moms not fat, she'd always make fun of me for being fat also. I think it's becoming more independent that helps.
