Hahahaha. I thought I was fat. Then I realized I was not. My BMI was around 19 but I had the nerd disease and it was the 90's. Whose laughing now fatties? I weigh the same as I did when I was 18.

35 and approximately 5lbs less than my freshman year of high school. It's amazing what a little self control and exercise will do for a body.

I weigh like 15 pounds more than I did when I graduated 9 years ago, but I was aggressively underweight for my height (6'4). Still am, actually.

Went from like 15 BMI to 17. Still underweight. 10 years of fatties being like "OOOHHHOOH IT'S GONNA CATCH UP TO YOU SOON AND BAM! YOU'RE GONNA BE FAT LIKE ME!" .....no. I don't eat that much and I keep active, it's not difficult.

I'm about 25 pounds heavier than when I was 18.

...and yet, my bf% is around 10 points lower.

Near middle aged me would kick the shit out of skinny fat dyel 18 year old me any day.

I'm kinda mixed on this. 18 year old me had 35 year old me in raw strength by a large margin, a little bit of size, and a noticeable lack of injuries. 35 year old me still has very respectable strength, but better technique, far more experience, and fights dirty as fuck. There's a reason I lived to be an "old man" in a profession where guys usually die young if they spent as much time out there as I did.

I would actually really like to see a fight between 18 year old me and 35 year old me. It would be.... painfully interesting, I'd think.

My BMI is 19-20 and I always thought I had a little extra but everyone says otherwise so I just listen to them. I realized I was one of the more fit people in a group full of beautiful Europeans which made me feel pretty good. Hell, I don't have the greatest face but I have a pretty bangin body for my age.

There is actually data to back this meme up. I remember a study that showed a drop in people who think they are fat during the same period obesity rose. That normalisation of obesity.

Sadly, so much of society seems to think that because they are average, they aren't fat.

Too stupid to realize that when the average is fat, so are you.

The cynic in me would say that 50% of teens are in fact fat but the wrong half thinks they were.

The 50% who think they're fat are probably the ones that aren't because they actually care about their looks.

Exactly. One of the reasons why hamconfidence pisses me off is that it's outrageous that the obese, sick, and disgusting-looking girls are the brattiest and most self-centered and "confident" in their looks, while all the normal, beautiful, non-self-absorbed girls feel like shit.

80% is only for blacks

And only for adult women. http://stateofobesity.org/disparities/ For teenager it's probably closer to the 32% number which applies to overweight children.

Ummm, considering baseline averages, would not 50% of teen girls actually be fat from a statistical perspective? It is sort of like saying "A national survey has determined that fully 50% of American students score below the national average on exams." Well duh! That's how averages work.

If you say "fat" means heavier than the average/median, then sure. But in a perfect world with no fatties that would mean its still 50%, and in a world containing only fatties shouder even 400lbs could be `not fat'.

I'm 19 kinda sorta a teen?

Anyway sure, sometimes I feel fat but then I remind myself my BMI is about 18.1 and insane amounts of girls are actually fat. Then I enjoy jealous looks from hammy teens! I look about 14 actually though so I guess people think ill "balloon up" ahahahaaa NOPE.

Being half a BMI point underweight is not that bad. She's barely out of highschool. I'm sure she can easily gain the pound or two she needs to be in the healthy range.
