I get that, but wouldn't a blogging platform be more appropriate than a remote code repository?

One positive is that anyone can submit a pull request to add more links, but it can be reviewed before some fatty tries to spam on it. It allows people to contribute without ruining the work.

At least that's why I thought someone might choose Github. Granted, most folks wouldn't know how to contribute to it.

That's a pretty good point. I hadn't considered the possibility of people trying to contribute to the list.

I didn't think of a blogging place. The main problem I had was character limits and Github has none. I think the end result would be basically the same thing on a blog, though. I like the way this has come out and it's easy for me to edit. I'll keep that in mind if this gets taken down or something.
