Combine this with parents, you know, actually raising their kids - teaching them how to cook, how to budget, etc., could fix it.

My son was such a picky eater as a kid. When he turned 6 or so, I made him cook with me. For some reason, he wasn't as picky when he helped make the meal. He's also taking some international cuisine culinary arts class this year (junior in high school). I had to show him when he was 8 how to do a proper pushup and squat, because PE teachers never showed him. God, his form was terrible (butt in the air & shoulders nearly up to his ears for pushups, knees extending over the toes and leaning too far forward with squats).

Anyway, we can't just rely on schools to raise our kids, but this would be a step in the right direction.
