Not in the medical field, but I have heard that people over a certain weight get sent to the zoo. I don't know how often that happens though.

I'd imagine it wouldn't be worth it for most of them as specialized equipment( and maintenance) for lardbeasts would be too expensive.

I'm not saying it's common, just that I've heard of it happening. But who knows, it could be urban legend.

And a few zoos do have these machines. Bronx and Houston zoos definitely do. There's also veterinary schools.

Well the zoos do have specialized equipment for dealing with heavier things.
