Fats are the worst body shamers out there. They will take a perfectly healthy teenage girl and wreck their self confidence. Good for you for not letting it get to you.

But putting thin models in ads causes eating disorders, not parents telling their children they look weird. /s

Telling little girls that real wymen are lard buckets doesn't distort body image at all either.

Hahah hams have made the strangest little things attractive - bony knees, sharp elbows, jutting hip and collarbones, the visible ribs on your chest, thigh gaps, thin ankles, back dimples, the v .... so many things you would not normally think about but since they come with being thin and thus are rare, these features have become desired. No matter how many times some cave troll will say your knees or elbows are too sharp, they'll still be something attractive thin people have in common and way way more good looking than undefined pudgey limbs with the elbow or knee bones lost somewhere in blubber.

Excellent work, OP.
My mother-in-law was never able to conceal her disappointment that I lost all my pregnancy "baby" weight. She was so convinced that I would get fat like everyone else seems to...

Far too many mothers are about as supportive as quicksand, and the fat ones are the worst of all. If they weren’t so damn self-consciously self-embarrassed, maybe they wouldn’t be such a downer on their kids.

OMG, one of our board members just had a baby and literally less than 2 months after the kiddler was born she is almost back to her pre baby body. She looks amazing. Yay healthy people. We have so few, yet in my particular medical field there are sooo many. It's awesome. None of our 12 board members are fat. One or two might be around 24 or 25 BMI but most are very fit.

I'm also recently post-partum and have been getting comments about my body, mostly from my fat bitch of a mother-in-law. My two favourite replies are: "you can never be too rich or too thin!" and "well, I'd like to lose the weight before he graduates highschool" while giving her the side eye.

There's still time for the cankles remark. You'll be prepared next time.

The reason this sub exists isn't because I or others get mad at every random fat person we see or something. It's because of double standards like this, and other such taboo-related problems. When someone is hit by a drunk driver, everyone supports the victim. That's why there's no DrunkPeopleHate.
