All one needed to do is see Japan's lower rate of obeasts to see a shame culture works. Particularly at making most people stay at a healthy weight. That being said, Japanese hams are creatures oblivious to shame and thus twice as deficient as regular hams which are already useless!

Asian hamminess is nowhere near as bad as North American or Euro. At least in many big cities it is normal to hassle the people you love about weight for their health and it works well without the bigguns crying because they don't like to hear they dying and they not purdy.

Anyone who writes about fat-shaming and uses the terms "lardbucket" and "hamplanet" has my attention.

Milo has got to be lurking here, he's using too much of our wording.

Well, Milo, if you read this, I want you to know you're the most fabulous person ever, hands down.

That was my impression too, but I don't know how common landwhale and hamplanet is outside of here though I see them elsewhere on occasion.

Given his political stances, I wouldn't be surprised if he got quite an active voat account.

So, there's this thing called homophilia, and using this social networking concept, it's possible to determine how close to a community is someone based on one's language. FPH generates a lot of original content, and, even though we're a small community, it's safe to assume this community has a decent content penetration rate among several other, especially online communities. What I mean is that, while he might not be accessing this subverse, he's definitely consuming material that's being either made or shared by this sub's user base. I think it's just a matter of time before he finds us.

PS: Homophilia also explains why the more fatties you know, the fatter you get.

Milo is of the younger generation, he's active on Twitter. Also, terms like lardbucket, landwhale, hambeast, were lifted from 4chan

The very reason humans evolved to feel shame is because we use it as a tool to curb undesired behavior.

I'm as solidly leftist as it comes, but I love this dude. And I feel the need to mention this: people who are leftists for reasons that go beyond the stupid trendy gender-studies crap don't support FA/HAES; and for the same reasons as a lot of conservatives: fats are a drain on the system (social programs, healthcare, infrastructure) and their behavior is disgustingly immoral.

I hate to be that guy, but people need to understand the difference between leftists and liberals. They're not the same ballpark, or the same sport even.

Everyone except fats who haven't had enough shaming know this. The question is 'how much shaming is necessary?'
