I mean it's a combo of HAES articles and companies that want people to keep buying their magic diet pills or doing some quick fix exercise product, but it's seriously annoying. I was shopping with a fat relative who was saying she needed to lose weight as fast as possible (she went fit to fat, her bf dumped her and said he won't see her again until she becomes human again) and she kept shoving diet pills and whey protein powders into her cart. When I told her she can begin by counting her calories and told her she's not going to become thin by ingesting diet pills or whey protein, she started going to all these "why calorie counting doesn't work" articles on her cell and wouldn't listen. It's stupid because so many follow the anti-calorie counting mindset and try all sorts of other diets instead - I can't tell you how many people I've seen lose a couple pounds on keto or Atkins and then balloon up to heavier than before because they think calorie counting is worthless or unhealthy.
Counting calories works, damnit. I'm in the best shape in my life, even better than when I wrestled in college, all because I incorporate calorie counting along with my training program. If there are any fat fucks reading this, find out how many calories you need to eat daily to start losing two lbs per week and don't fucking eat above that. You don't even need to exercise to start freeing your skeleton from all the extra YOU. Count your goddamn calories it's not hard at all.
