You know your life sucks when you have to cheat at a 5k.

She has been cheating on her so called "accomplishments", I highly doubt this incident is going to destroy her delusions.

This is the same person who calls herself a trained researcher and top athlete.

Her life is one big cheat day.

And still take 46 minutes to finish...

And still take 46 minutes somehow.

How do you cheat and still do absolutely attrociously?

The times were horrible all around in that article. 300m ahead, but 5 min ahead?

Do fast people do 5Ks anymore, or have they been completely taken over by fats?

BRB, signing up for a 5k to feel like an African god at distance running.

Mostly taken over by fats. It's why I try to stick to 8Km+ races now.

It was a race marketed at fatties. They even gave out donuts at the end.

She cheated and is still slower than the "dancing" butter barge on TLC.

I do a "5K" several times a week when I jog to work. And I can assure you, I can cover 3.1 miles in less than 1'5". A slow 4 MPH "trot' does it in about 45 minutes. And I'm not even sweating.

And in no way am I a runner. I never "trained" for running.

[–] hulkingmanbeast 0 points 13 points (+13|-0) ago

My friend has literally never run for more than 1km in his life. He didn't train at all and did a 10k race in just over an hour. This "elite athlete" cheats and still takes longer... on a 5k.

Unbelievably pathetic.

A steady pace for long distance back packing is about 3 miles an hour. For several hours, each day for several days.... so that is you, carrying food, water, shelter, etc... doing a 5k every hour for as long as a trail takes you (except for injury, rest days, or fuck off lazy days).

Not 3.1 miles and "all done".

3.1 miles and then "wander off into the food vendor area".

[–] Shitlord2016 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Yeah, that's when you walk 12 miles a day and 8 of them are uphill. She can't even walk 3 miles an hour on a normal road.

[–] Cenki 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

I don't even understand the time, because when I walk at normal pace, its 18-19 minute miles.. 3 miles would be less than an hour. I don't even..

I'm training for a half marathon in the fall. I did a 11K run thia weekend and it wasn't great (hot, muggy, windy and just wasn't feeling it). Still faster than her 5k time.

Oh man, I remember this fat. This is the one that calls itself "Ironfat", but who failed the half IM at the first gate. And now it's proving itself incapable of a simple walk across town. So satisfying to see it finally being caught in its lies. I look forward to whatever ridiculous method it'll employ for the upcoming full Iron Man to avoid having to do physical activity. Especially now that its current strategy has been discovered.

Also,

After taking a photo, they wander off into the food vendor area.

Of course they did

...see it finally being caught in its lies.

It's been caught in giant lies before and just carried on as normal. Exif data on her weekly photos showed discrepancies in her reported training times.

The photos were amazing. An entire week's (or maybe it was even two?) worth of photos all shot one after the other. You could see her swimsuit on underneath her "running" clothes.

Haaaaaaa, this post convinced me to go catch up on all that I missed and oh man. You weren't kidding. People looked up the exif data and she literally just turned around on the spot, snapped another picture and called that a week apart. I love watching compulsive liars in action.

She's been caught over and over again, and yet somehow it's still semi famous enough that people read it's blog and send her training money. I think you should have to prequalify for ironman races by proving you can run a marathon in a reasonable amount of time, or somethings. She could actually drown during the swim.

She could actually drown during the swim.

I admire your optimism.

Fats float, unfortunately.

On a similar note, I can't float at all. I sink. I can swim, though, without a problem.

This is the one that calls itself "Ironfat", but who failed the half IM at the first gate.

IIRC, she also calls herself a prize winning competitive dancer because she entered a category that had no other competitors.

National champion, actually.

I, too, am a national champion. I won the championship of running backwards while making coffee coasters out of refried beans.

I think I'm hooked back into this thing. I was fully invested last year and it was completely worth the wait. Now that this is "the real thing" the payoff will hopefully be even better.

Maybe it'll drown.

With fat being buoyant I'm not sure that's possible for it.

It's more likely that it'll get beached.

I actually set the alarm on my phone to wake me so that I could watch the IRONMAN debacle from start to finish. I screenshotted quickly-deleted comments on her Facebook page and everything. It was a whale of a time.

The Fat Boy 5K Long Beach

So it's not even any sort of competition. This is just some lazy 5K for people to get out and walk, nothing serious. Despite this, Raging feels the need to cheat. It's supposed to be ready for an Ironman, but can't muster a 5K. I'm kind of excited about what the excuse for not attending will be because it's very obviously not training at all.

And it still couldn't finish in under an hour! There is a video of it waddling its immense bulk over the finish line on the results page if you want to be disgusted.

I'd love to be able to post this on /r/fatlogic, but I've been banned from that sub.
