Fuck that. I live in an actual urban food desert and I still manage to live quite well on $20 a week in fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat, frozen vegetables, milk, eggs, etc. All from my local Save a Lot which is basically 90% cheap processed crap. Without fail, on every shopping trip I see welfare hams loading up on shit like frozen pizzas and TV dinners. It's ridiculous.

And the "I don't have the time to cook" excuse is the stupidest shit ever. You don't have to make fancy-ass lemon infused teriyaki chicken souffle seasoned with the tears of Tibetan monks. Plain meat or eggs take like 10 minutes tops in a pan to cook evenly. Same with whole grain pasta. Fresh fruit and vegetables don't even need to be cooked. You can eat milk or yogurt right out of the container. There is literally no excuse to eat processed shit.

Yeah, like in my town we had a corner-store-type grocery and a meat locker. Everything was marked up equally, so there really was no incentive to buy junk. They seriously just don't have their shit together enough to work that 10 minutes cooking and cleaning up. What the fuck, all the families I knew that ate crappy like mine also used paper plates AT HOME and all kinds of convenience products but needed assistance to buy their kids paper and pencils for school. WHAT IS THIS DISEASE. THIS IS HOW STORIES LIKE THE COUCHWOMAN HAPPEN.
