Honestly, I just do it for the extra cash (my taste in books and beer is expensive), and the cardio. Like, when 8 skids come in, and I only have 2 hours before my shift is over, I'm basically getting paid to do HIIT. It's awesome.

You'd think so, but it can get a little silly. I've a $250 bid on a 17th century Latin prayer book at a local rare book shop. I'm not even fluent in Latin, and not religious at all. I just like the idea of being able to hold this thing, and flip through it. My ultimate goal is to get a hold of something that was made before the invention of the Gutenberg press.

And on the flip side, I've paid a couple of hundred on a 20 year old Chimay Grand Reserve. It was, actually quite nice, but rather... erm... earthy.
