That is a meal for a four year old?!? That looks like the size of a meal for me, a 5'10'' male.

That's what I tought too. Like "What's wrong? I eat as much. Maybe more meat and vegs, and less carbs, but same portions".

And then the 4 y/o part.

Also, who puts peas in their pasta?

I like veggies in my alfredo pasta.

I put peas in my pasta if I'm making spaghetti carbonnara or macaroni cheese. The only way I'll eat the foul little bastards is if they taste like cheese.

I want to know why the hell anyone would put pasta with bread.

Just thinking of that part makes me gag intensely. It looks ugly and reminds me of the horrid time I had to eat macaroni when I was five years old.

Maybe it's her way to make it healthy so he eats them? Or she was too lazy to use 2 pots? I'm allergic to peas so I donno if they take the same amount of time to cook, but that might also be a factor.

oone that either went to the gym that day or is a bit heavy. There are 3-4 types of gravy on that plate and so much carbs.

Also the only vegitable is peas in pasta with sauce...

A THREE year old - the older whale said her small ham is ALMOST four. Christ, thanks a ton of food whether the kid is three OR 4, but for a three year old...

Oh... I had misread it as the plate being four years old, which I thought was a bit of an odd thing to point out.

Balanced?! If you mean carbs on all fucking sides... Poor kid, she's probably 100 pounds already :-(

One of the saddest sights to behold is a toddler who's wider than they're tall

Should be considered child abuse. Kid in my 4th grade class was easily 100 lbs overweight, had "asthma" then was diagnsed with diabetes. Parents ahould have been jailed.

If the kid isn't that fat yet, the kid soon will be.

I have a hard time at work when I make dinner not losing my shit when one of the fat staff tries to get me to am keenly stuffing to go with mashed potatoes as a side. A well balanced meal has 2 veggies, 1 starch, and a meat. That is by no means unrealistic yet I'm always looked at like I came from Mars when I repeat that.

This makes me want to cry. Kids aren't born with fucked up taste buds and cravings so if you give them fruits and veggies when they're young, they're more likely to be healthy eaters when they're older. Also, why doesn't it occur to her that a 4 year old SHOULD NOT be anywhere close to keeping up with her own hammy appetite!? She's dooming that kid. :(

Kids are very much dictated by their hunger. Some nights my kids will barely touch their dinner, and then surprise surprise, the following morning they eat like horses at breakfast. My kids are 5 and 2 and I've never seen either of them come even remotely close to eating that quantity of food. I'd say on average they eat about a third of what's on that plate.

Most of the people that I know that got fat did it after moving out of their parent's houses.

But this kid is doomed with those portions before she ever gets old enough to move out.

I don't know about that, I've always gagged whenever I've eaten and vegetable but weirdly I'm still not fat

You can still eat like shit and be thin. My SO is so deficient on nutrients that he gets a canker sore at least once a month. He hardly ever eats vegetables or really anything even remotely healthy. I mostly see him eating things like cheese crackers and popcicles, but he's still thin because he doesn't eat ridiculous portions.

Is it a taste or texture thing? Maybe try smoothies, or putting veggies into pasta sauce or some other dish.

I think most vegetables are gross but fruit is great!

A very active child should be eating about the same amount as a normal, sedentary adult. Key word there is normal.

Bread, potatoes, pasta AND beans. You sure there's enough carbs in there? Maybe thrown in some white rice, or a bowl of frosted flakes.

I had to explain the concept of a water bottle to a 5 year old the other day. Sad days we live in.

A soda-bottle filled with water? Why would you do that?

0

[–] g9k7j2r0 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Yeah. Basically I give my kid a sports bottle for kids and fill it with water for his games. A large child asked why my kid had a bottle and I had to explain it was a water bottle. And then he asked if you could put juice in it.

I bet she purposefully over-feeds her daughter so at least she's not as fat as her four-year-old.

If this is balanced, I wonder what her husband's "picky" meal looks like.
