I've recently been seeing a sports therapist after suffering a shoulder injury. Yesterday's session involved some deep massage of the muscles between my ribs, which has left me feeling a bit sore today.
I've mentioned this to 3 people today and EVERY SINGLE ONE said "ah it's because you are so bony!" "You need more padding!" "Your ribs stick out too much" etc etc (my BMI is 19.5). One even said I should stop exercising or else I'd get more injuries (she rarely does anything more taxing than lumbering to the fridge).
Bitch, please. I'd rather sustain the odd minor sports injury than wait for the inevitable joint pain from pulling around an extra 100lb with me. The sports therapist himself said how easy it was to be working one someone when he can see and feel the ribs easily (which made me shudder at the thought of how many planets he has to work with....gross).
