There is nothing unmanly about knowing how to sew on a sewing machine. I learned for the simple reason that I did not like to pay $10 every time I needed a pair of pants hemmed. Of course, I did not get one of those pristine little white plastic "Suzie-homemaker" machines, I got a Consew industrial. This came in handy as I was later able to save hundreds by sewing my own custom vinyl boat seats, repairing the leather seat of my motorcycle, and repairing a canvas sail for a friend of mine's sail boat. All in all, a very manly concept indeed.
