You use savings or family for that. Welfare is always bad.

Without minimum wage (another socialist corner stone) finding a job would always be easy.

I noticed that a lot of poor people have two jobs. I've always thought to myself that's pretty dumb. But in their position they have to be smart.

First, if you loose one job you have another you can likely get more hours from.

Two, you have a buffer with which to establish boundries.. my other job..

Third, you have negotiating power when your employer asks you to do something ludicrous for no extra pay. A one jobbed man might give in just to keep his current job. Fuck that shit. Now you can just say no.

Forth, you have something they both want, more hours of you if you are any good. They might start offering you things to get those hours from you.

Fifth, there is virtually zero risk of you having an employment gap.

Sixth, on resume you can claim x-years experience doing y. They aren't asking how many hour a day you did that. You rank up quicker that way.

Seventh, you can go get a better paying job even if you aren't sure of the culture there or the boss. Sometimes it isn't worth it. You don't know a place is shit till you are there. If you are used to lining up two jobs you can quit the higher paying job that isn't the right higher paying job without that jump causing an employment gap. Also you don't mention it later on your work history and just put the job you kept. Now jumping ship to something that doesn't pan out doesn't lead to a place you worked at for two months on your job history.

Got a pretty good job where that doesn't make sense? Always have a side gig of some sort.

Always have two income streams. And if you are trying to live the traditional life where the wife focuses on the home and children.. that means you have to have two income streams.

When taxation is minimal, say 10% or less you can saveup 2-3 years of living expenses in 1 year of work so unemployment becomes more like a forced vacation.
