Actually not the first time, after the success with engineering intensive oil production like fracking, and tar Sands processing, Saudis dumped hard to try and run you, Canada, and Russia out of business about 5 years ago, successfully I might say, and brought the price of the barrel down from ~130 to ~45, where only they could make money. Catastrophic effect. But oil prices are finally looking promising so you're turning on the taps again, only to most likely repeat the process.
