...also, some countries like France have things that are not called ‘taxes’ per se but still taken out of your paycheck by the gvt...if you are ever offered a job in France remember that what they call ‘net’ is not what it seems... and they have additional taxes if you happen to have savings and/or a house (‘grande fortune’) but don’t have the right connections, etc. i.e., their actual tax rates are much higher than advertised.
