My name is Lampshadians, I have always been into computers and tech related things. I'm currently living in St. Louis and going to school. I just finished a new pc build in January that has a i5-4690k and gigabyte 970 g1. Besides computers I like to keep up on the android rooting scene. In my free time I enjoy working on my car. I own a 2001 Miata with a DIY Turbo I installed, It might not be the fastest car but it is a lot of fun to drive on nice days. If anybody is looking for information on these cars I might be able to help you out. I look foward to reading what everyone has to post and I personally will help anyone who post creates a post looking for a second opinion on their PC Build.

If you do decide to build a new computer you should post the build list for us all to see... you would be the first person to do that on this sub.. :0

You know if you do decide to take it apart and clean it you should take some pictures and post them. I've never gotten the chance to water cool but I would be interested in maybe doing it in the future. Was it hard to put your 770's in the loop?

Hi there. I'm diggy. I'm also an amateur PC builder. I built mine back in October with a 4690k processor and soon had an r9 280x in there for the purpose of playing GW2. I've since upgraded that to a gtx970 due to heat issues, though. Am still considering additional cooling options for my humble corsair spec 01 case.

I'm probably not as experienced as some of you but I'll try to contribute when I can and am glad we are here and that things are starting to be pieced back together.

What brand 970 are you running? Have you tried overclocking? I've had a lot of good luck with my gigabyte g1 and a mild overclock. Really pushes the frames at 144hz.

I'm also using the g1 edition. I originally tried a small overclock but started getting black screens in guild wars 2 on map change, so I figured default clocks were good enough till I get a better case/airflow.

If I remember, I'll attempt again tomorow after class to see if i can get a stable overclock and maybe record temps/try with other games. I do have a stable cpu overlock howerver at a modest 4.0ghz. I'm still running 1080p so cpu tends to be my weaker point at least with the games I play. (GW2, SC2)

Voe here, I'm going to graduate in two years (Electrical Engineering). I enjoy good music, graphics, and midprice computers. I love how machines are developing, and I am looking forward to next exciting stuff! I would like to build my own, freaking huge computer one day. And finally learn some cryptography.

Nice to meet you! If you ever find anything neat to post related to your degree I dont think it would be to much of a stretch to post it in /v/computers. A people might also find it interesting.
