Here are some of the features of this board which they are brazenly marketing as a mining rig board, but the thing barely works as a consumer board.
I don't understand why there have been over 1000 new chipsets since I was in school and I still do mostly the same things on most of my computers.
Why does this MSI motherboard need 2 different BIOS/memory speed and CPU BIOS updates before it is even unboxed?
Why does this MSI motherboard randomly initialize a graphics adapter, and then when I move the monitor to that one and reboot it just starts at a random one?
20 years ago VGA could detect a signal & know which adapter was hooked up. What the fuck is going on?
The biggest thing is, when people are venturing into a new era, all these little problems create exponential amounts of troubleshooting time when someone doesn't know what they are doing yet.
Here's a fun feature, the board has a "quick boot" mode that you might use if you are trying to launch an intermittent startup lockup problem.
That mode also disables USB detection so there is no possibility of going into the BIOS.
Here's another fun feature, if you clear the cmos and boot the system up, you can predict which graphics card it's going to initialize. Any subsequent reboot after that, too bad, until about 5 or 6 reboots where it stops being a fucking lottery game.
No BIOS controls to disable problematic power control chipsets that don't have drivers yet.
I just can't stand it. Quality has gone down the shit man. Why do people put up with this? When will we reject being preyed upon by someone who wants our money and doesn't care about what they give us in return?
