Maybe if the books were more about the characters being interesting people and not about the black women creating them, people would be more interested.
I'm not going to read a book about something I'm not interested in just because a black person wrote it. Anymore than i would read a book about something I wasn't interested in just because a white person wrote it. How hard is this to understand?

That's an apt observation. I don't know the skin colours of most of the people who work on comic books that I like.

I honestly never thought it mattered. I just don't have an interest in 'Mary Sue' characters who are strong and smart and pretty and flawless and work only to make the world an SJW Utopia - I like characters with flaws who make mistakes. I like imperfect characters I can relate to, and that's what I buy.
A lot of the time when someone is promoting something only because the artist is black or female anymore it's because their work is very lopsided, but very PC and they try to get in on an angle that if they aren't successful, it's because the world hates women and black people. It makes it even harder for people with good stuff.
I'm glad this woman mentioned she's doing it just because she loves it. Good for her.
