What do you mean a "better baseline"? I don't think you actually understand why climate change is a problem. You seem very ignorant on the basics.

Yes, the Earth has been hotter before. Yes, the Earth will be fine after climate change. The problem is the cost to modern society that we will have to pay; clean up, relocation efforts, water shortages, floods, extreme weather, etc.

What happened 2k years ago is 100% irrelevant to human induced CO2 today.
