So basically, contractual work based in literal, metric performance measures which would lawfully help ensure profitability from the company for the investors and protect workers who actually want to work?
Nonsense from academics who have never worked in business or industry and have no idea what the real world implications are. Plus, this isn't exactly untrodden ground - - this has been researched extensively. For most businesses, manufacturing by quota or MBO (management by objectives) is a path to quality reduction.
