Good for you. Nice to give this a try it is a good skill to have and you will have confidence when the time comes to fix, replace or upgrade later.

I learned how to fix then build PCs 20 years ago and taught my boys. My oldest has built an impressive system and is constantly improving it. It makes me feel good when I see him lay out his tools and anti static mat and replace a part. Now if only I can encourage my younger son to rebuild a 69 Camaro SS with me I will be a happy girl.

Best :)

I don't think you'll have clearance for the cpu cooler in front with that triple fan 1080. You should find a case with 240 mounts on top or go with a dual fan 1080.

That's a good choice. If you do get the hybrid, swap out the stock fan with better static pressure, like Vardar. I used a 980 hybrid and the fan wasn't pulling enough air through the fins.

I'd also suggest Corsair LPX @3000. I've read it has the best performance with ryzen.

That is a really good price on the SSD. I would have gone with the Samsung 850 EVO otherwise.

Are you really going to do overclocking on the CPU? Otherwise, you just need a regular cooler.

Probably in the future.
