Good on you for having humility. I hope everyone lays off now and let's you and your sub grow organically.

@czarpineapple - please let us know if people keep on with this. You came out and addressed it - that should be the end of the story. Please go to v/protectvoat and message the mods if this doesn't die down.

Actually no, its not the end of the story. That's the beauty of this site and community. Go back to reddit and spread that shit over there. It's not welcome here.

Thank you, IMO the very generic subverses (those created by system, possibly some others) should have as minimal moderation as possible.

If someone wants a more curated experience they should create a subverse with that in mind.

If I actually had a choice to let you moderate my content, I think I'd let you.

I don't have that choice.

TBH - all of the amalek "nigger" posts have been downvoted by the v/books community. And that is WITH a flood of folks giving them protest-upvotes.

Voat is not a site for strict moderation in the default/system verses. I would say v/books just proved it can handle itself. Let @czarpineapple enforce Rule #3 and the rest of you take care of 1 & 2 with your votes. -4 collapses a comment and anything less than 0 is usually enough to knock a submission off of the front page.

I'm suggesting that I want a choice to enable good moderators and disable ones who's decisions I do not like.

The best part about voat is the lack of rules. I smell the same bullshit that killed reddit coming back.

Moderators left reddit, but didn't leave their agenda there... Somehow mysteriously appearing here lol.

And when it gets called out the fucking irony of the cyclical argument of speech is brought up, and the moderators continue while everyone bickers...

Don't you mean brigading upvotes?

Very big of you. Earned my respect.

I even admit that the "black author assault" submission didn't quite, exactly fit there in books, but it was kind of book-y. :)

The problem is that this is there are the first two rules in the sidebar that are poorly written, and still need to be updated in time. Spam/junk are long standing ways to both moderate, and censor content. It is why the public modlogs shape voat as a group.

Would you delete amalek spam? What about the string of posts made by various global lying alts, like this one or this one? It is only when taken as a whole across different accounts does it become obviously spam/junk.

I mean racist shitposting is something I would classify as junk, do you? What is "junk"?

I get it, you have been targeted by PV, justly or not. And as long as system is a mod here, having platitudes like "be nice" or "Contribute Content that can aid to the discussion and overall quality of this subverdse" in the rules is not doing anyone favours in terms of seeing how far shitposters can shitpost.

For creating a redditesque wasteland in a thread outside of guidelines. He himself acknowledges it, which is a refreshing change. I have gotten so used to dealing with cancermods like @eggnogg and @she who force moderation on users who don't want it and then cling to their power like a middle-east despot.

is not doing anyone favours in terms of seeing how far shitposters can shitpost.

The best thing to do is what v/news does. Come up with clear guidelines about the submissions themselves. That will guide the in-thread content. It seems v/books has an active userbase. Let them downvote ass holes and let the mods worry about spam. The flood of people upvoting amalek's crap came from people being pissed off about the nuked comments. Please don't turn this into a Patriot Act moment.

How does Rule #1 look now

You're letting one user dictate changes to your rules here. I'd wait for more input.

As a rules lawyer, it is still shit. As opposed to "be nice" as a rule, it is "try to be nice"'as a rule. Still asking to be abused by you, others in the future, or a way to test boundaries.
