So I recently came across a bunch of 1970-80s sci-fi books I picked up cheap at a yard sale- Niven, Dick, Asimov, Herbert, and Asimov all represented, and it rekindled my reading bug. I had never read Niven's Fallen Angels before, and it reads like a fanfic; very fitting considering the storyline. The Dune series actually was a bit of a letdown because I first read it when I was young and it wasn't as amazing as I had remembered it, although I definitely understood it better this time around(still think Frank was better than Brian, but I think Brian did a better job than I originally gave him credit for) Dick just made me want a good modern cyberpunk to be written.
On the non fiction side, I started to read up on failed flight and engineering(starting at NASA itself and snowballing out from there. Currently finishing Goddard's two-piece "Rockets"), and was going to follow into Glen Lunney's "Highway into Space"
After that, I'm in the hunt for another series to read(or topic to study).
