All of the gyms in my area are crazy expensive. I think the cheapest I found was the Y at close to $100 a month. So, I built a home gym for around $800 instead.

We do have a Planet Fitness, but I've already been kicked out of there.

For actually exercising, and getting the lunk alarm pulled. Made some fatty feel bad about themselves.

Nah, small town. We have a Y, a Crossfit gym, a Planet Fitness, and a couple non-franchise gyms, one of which has branded itself as more of a club than a gym.

Spent between 900 and 1200 on a home gym(rack bench weights), no regrets. Wouldn't mind a rowing machine though.

I'm currently on a $10 a month membership. Doesn't get much lower than that. It's definitely not fancy, and doesn't have a whole lot of frills but it has the essentials. Moving soon though so I'll have to be searching for a new one.

You can't go throwing words like "profligacy" at someone who doesn't know the dollar sign goes at the beginning of the number.

$600 on a power rack and iron.

Why the hell am I going to pay $40 per month, when after two years I own all the equipment I use and blast whatever music I want!

Also, don't have to deal with fatties.

Downside, no cardio bunnies.

That seems a bit redundant. Why both?

$310 for a year, my employer reimbursed me for half of that. So $155/yr..~$12.5/month

The gym is operated by a local hospital so most of its members are older folks. The gym has about 10 treadmills, 10 bikes, a full circuit of machines, decent number of free weights and benches, indoor track, floor space for aerobic exercises, showers and outdoor pool. All of which is available 24/7 except the pool. Its pretty fucking sweet.

10/month plus some extra yearly fees, because I don't have space at home

$10 a month. Why? Because it's cheap. The gym is great, it has a ton of cardio machines for the fatasses who are the majority of members but also a ton of weights that no one but me ever uses. Its like having my own gym.
