I am in a college town and none of the FLGS are within walking distance. One of the FLGS has been working with customers helping to set up carpooling to and from campus for events.

I'm running my first kickstarter and I found out that most FL(portland area)GSs have been happy to hold games for my customers to pick-up (we have a local, no shipping option). Very cool!

My flgs is also a hobbie store with rc planes and cars, trains and model building supplies. The would have game nights for board games and pen and paper, but they just moved to a better location that is a little smaller, so they don't have the room to do this atm. Most the staff are gamers and/or rc enthusiasts to boot, so if you ask questions they or their coworker will have intelligent answers. I have seen them help build several sets for campaigns along with getting crashed planes working again. Most the time when you mention a game or a part they will order it in the next shipment.
