The innovation on which Bitcoin is built changes the game, and that remains true no matter the price. This same point gets made every single time price volatility picks up. Price doesn't determine whether Bitcoin changes the game. So in this specific sense, it doesn't matter. The price still matters.
Every single price explosion raises the profile of Bitcoin. This is not a good or bad development but matters nonetheless. More people using bitcoin improves the value of working in this space. It matters to anyone that has a choice between working in bitcoin vs some place else, and a lot of people have that choice.
