If you're interested in mining as a hobby be aware that you will likely operate at a loss. Running a full node that you have full control over will also improve your privacy and security compared to using a light wallet. Many envision bitcoin as a currency to store their wealth. And I like this idea, especially with its value spiking. But in the long term this makes little sense as it is a currency meant to be spent and will only work once people start doing that. In the same way I only keep a small amount of my total USD wealth in my physical wallet, should I be treating bitcoin the same and only have a small amount of it in my digital wallet? Trying to figure this out and how I want to use bitcoin.
