you can get in and out with $100-200 USD worth of bitcoin at virwox.com// you will have to go from paypal/cc to SLL then to BTC... so there will be some fees involved. The exchange rate will not be as good as going directly though Coinbase... but there will be less of a wait.
Once you get some BTC, change it to something good, like ETC, GBYTE, BLOCK, or even ETH. Then put that in in a briainwallet. Never keep funds on an exchange, unless they are in an order. Exchanges can disappear overnight, taking your assets with it.

Just try localbitcoins.com. No reason to use Coinbase.
