As a bartender for 5 and 1/2 years now I can say that I get hit on a lot, but I take it in stride. My job is to serve delicious drinks and facilitate a good time by all. With that said - I've been hit on, asked out, received numbers on check stubs, had a person grab me and attempt to kiss me once, and even been proposed to at my bar. Does it change my attitude about serving? Well, let's just say I stay on the closed end of the bar when certain people come in ;)
Go ahead and flirt with whomever you want. Ask em out. The worst they can say is no. If they are good at compartmentalizing you won't have a problem if they decline an invitation to hang out. Odds are you might just find a great friend. I've found a lot of mine that way.
