Ceòl Mòr means the "great music", or the "big music". Another word for it is Piobaireachd.
This is the ancient traditional style of the Scottish bagpipe, passed down in a sung musical notation language before written music entered the highlands. They are lengthy tunes, full of strong emotions and stories, and requiring great skill and focus to perform.
I'll post songs, stuff about the sung language (Canntaireachd), instructional videos, and pages from the Piobaireachd tutor I got from my instructor. I'm doing this partially because I think it's a really cool piece of celtic culture, and partially to keep myself motivated as I learn.
Mondays are by no means restricted to Ceòl Mòr. If you want to post something different, feel free.
