January was a very busy month. I'm back with a lot of things
Cleverly written by /u/GingerSoul, just like the RES feature it lets you add account information and switch between them easily. It's pretty useful.
I'm sorry, I don't remember who suggested this one. It was around that time when people talked about the issue of loading HTTP content from an HTTPS page. Basically, this module has two options that can be used at the same time: to titles linking to http urls, it can display a warning icon before or change their style (light red font color, but deactivated by default).
Originally written by /u/j_ and modified for Greasemonkey by /u/dubbelnougat. This feature lets you edit the custom stylesheet of your subverse from any page! Props to /u/j_, the way it works is pretty ingenious.
A new feature category has been added for the CSSEditor in the preference manager: Modtools. I hope to write more of this kind.
I added failsafes for the loading process of modules (in the preference manager also). If, for whatever reason, a module was to crash you will see an alert and it will be deactivated automatically.
In the initialization process, I improved the loading triggers a bit, I don't know if you'll notice a difference, but some modules will start earlier than before.
Remember that bug that happened when you were browsing a subverse and had chosen the top posts in the last month but NeverEndingVoat was only returning submissions from the regular page? This has been fixed, NeverEndingVoat now remembers what you want.
I implemented a quick debug mode that will be very useful in the future (to me mostly).
LudwikJaniuk on github as corrected a lot of my broken English. Thanks!
Show submission's actual vote balance
This feature is finally working thanks to a script by /u/dubbelnougat. Thanks!
It's a bit wonky because of the way Voat processes voats, but it works most of the timetm.
/u/AmyAcker had reported a bug that was pretty devastating (thank you again, by the way), turns out it was even worse! It could have prevented any new user from using AVE, basically only letting people that used AVE before the last two or so versions continue to be able to enjoy it.
So, I think it's fixed... But, /u/AmyAcker, I'd really appreciate it if you could try to replicate this bug again and tell me the result.
I added an option to hide submissions when you open their link (even if the HideRightAway option is enabled the post won't be removed on the spot).
A minor change but still, you can now click the title to enable/disable a module.
/u/HomerSimpson requested some time ago that I reintroduce the old behaviour of this module. Now that it's done, I hope I understood what you meant...
In the old times, the user block (where you find your username, contributions points, etc.) would assume its usual position and follow the scrolling motion. If you scrolled back up it would scroll back too until it met it's old position. I had changed that after introducing the feature that injects custom styles because they were interfering a lot.
It took the time to rework that old feature back into AVE and it works nicely again.
This module will now be activated in the comment and submission history pages.
The " or a NSFW random subverse" part is no longer left behind but will stay at the bottom of the page with its friend.
When a new page is fetched, it is parsed to update the mail status and the contribution points.
Pressing the key combo "Control + Return" will automatically submit a comment.
And apart from a lot of small fixes and minor modifications that's all for today. I'm still as busy with real life stuff as ever but my schedule is way less random, so I'm going to try to work at least an hour most days of the week on AVE and get new features out sooner.
Thanks a lot to all of you for sharing scripts, ideas, bug reports and everything else!
