It is important to note that on average, Christians take a much more literal view of the OT than Jews do. For example: Jews know that Psalms wasn't written by David, and Proverbs wasn't written by Solomon. Judaism is like 3/4 culture 1/4 faith. Any Jew that isn't a zionist will probably tell you straight up that violence in the name of a religious belief is never ok.

Christianity and Islam are both pretty violent when in a position of power. Based on what I've seen of Judaism, I'd put it about on par with something more like Buddhism in terms of how much it has contributed to "the problem" with religions. It's mostly harmless, and on top of that most of its practitioners are rather aware that they're probably just playing a many thousands of years old game of make believe.

Christians also know that the OT has been supercede by the NT and has essentially no bearing upon Christianity other than historical context.

The only reason Jews abandoned violence is because they have been defeated so many times that they have been forced to do so. Their history before that is full of the typical genocide, slavery and rape expected of dogmatic faiths.

Paul wrote some pretty vile shit, too. I can't name an atrocity perpetrated by Jews which comes anywhere near what went on during the Crusades. People were shitty to each other the world over, and often still are. We barely started crawling away from that when the Enlightenment movement began in secular Europe.
