It's about time black communities started rejecting religion. Perhaps this will cure the stupidity that plagues their cultures.

Of all religions, I can't understand why black people would choose Christianity, given the Bible supports slavery throughout.

Of course, consider that the majority of the people who practiced that slavery were actually black.

Yes, the Bible promotes loving your neighbor, but it also promotes all kinds of obscenely evil things. The only way you can make the Bible seem like a moral guide is by cherry-picking the morally good passages. In order to do this, you have to have an already-existing moral standard against which to judge the Bible. So why not dispense with the Bible and just apply this standard directly?

See NonStampCollector on the Bible as a moral standard: https://youtu.be/tz3EEqtcJME and https://youtu.be/zXO26pObTZA

And those people would say that you are taking it out of context. It's a good thing we can actually read the book for ourselves and discover that you're both taking it out of context. The problem with their line of thinking is obvious. The problem with your line of thinking is you assume that anything negative is being taken out of context.

Any good that can be done with religion can be done without, but some evils can only be done with religion.
