Because aphorism. Read the fucking comment.

What was recorded in the Beatitudes was Christ speaking. To a crowd. Teaching. A crowd.

Tell me Dead, what do you remember more? The exact wording of workplace ethics from an employee handbook from 10 years ago...or the verbatim phrasing of a Christ quotation from 2000 years ago?

It speaks volumes to my point that people from all over the world, of all ages, and disparate cultures can usually state one of these sayings, even if they've never been inside a church. Appreciate that for a moment.

You have your answer. I didn't even need to appeal to the esoteric.

The "Beatitudes" were probably never spoken by "Jesus"

Your quotations make this ambiguous. So you think Jesus went by a different name? Are you disputing the name given to the Beatitudes? Or are you disputing the historical existence of Jesus of Nazareth?

It doesn't matter. Let's say I entertain the possibility.

Would that mean God doesn't exist?

You wouldn't answer me honestly; I know this already. But I am still inclined to ask.

Dead, are you Jewish?

I can't help but notice your argument pattern. You pose a challenge, and when you are very adequately replied to, you don't acknowledge the previous point. Instead, you find a new little bit in the reply to direct a whole new comment at. And at the same time, you seem to have amnesia with respect to every answer you have already been given.

It reminds me of the way Hitler described his arguments with Jews.
