Although humans are nothing more than highly developed animals, being the only breed that will kill for other reasons than survival (food, territory) doesn't bring us above the rest of earths inhabitants.

That is exactly my point, dna doesn't magically stop working somewhere between chimpanzees and humans. Religion and culture are factors in behavior but neither could even exist without genetics.

It's more than genetics that's behind religion & culture though. They all have a huge influence on someone's social development. Since social skills are mostly learned behavior it's hard imo to argue that dna is the leading factor to define them.
