Hmm. A church here decided to be a good guy and provide for the homeless. Problem was the church was on a residential street and the homeless were the mentally ill and drug addicted and alcoholics who weren't really concerned about the etiquette of not shitting on the curb. The vandalism, theft and litter made life hell for every one in the neighborhood. If there was another church in the area they could have done a lot of good leading the complaints. The residents were accused of being terrible people and no one offered to pay for their broken windows or anything else.

The people here who do the most for the homeless are other religious organizations but they've doing it for 50 years and understand the big picture.

Not exactly a reasonable comparison. Churches in the US receive more than $100 billion in tax free donations each and every year - about $300 million per day for each and every day. A fraction of one year of church donations would be enough to purchase, in full, a nice house for every single homeless family and individual. Not a great idea in today's socioeconomic state where there are people working their asses off just to stay in the mediocre housing they're struggling to keep renting, but just for the sake of illustration of how absurdly much money churches have at their disposal.

I doubt it, but many atheists do work in religious homeless shelters to their credit.

Awwwww.... so their uncomfortable with the sight of poor people. Gotta love the hypocrisy of most "Christians". People like that are the reason I am actually harder on christians when it comes to morality. Just another example of how being christian and being moral are not even close to the same thing.

Yep this could be subtitled:

10 things neighboring Christian Churches Hate.

Maybe they could just shut down their homeless caring hours when the local church goers are pretending to be Christians?
