I think with having a period the sight is just natural. You expect it, it happens for some time, then its over and you know that same thing will happen again. At the sight of other blood its either totally unexpected and in a moment of overwhelming panic, or you know a procedure and pain is involved to manually remove it from your body. I'm feeling light headed just thinking about!

Well, its not as if the blood that comes out is actually circulating through the body. Its already been stored in its own area and is now leaving. If I get cut in some way or im bleeding then I can get close to fainting. That is generally because of the context of the blood.

Blood doesn't phase me, mine or others. I don't want to see someone hurt, but it won't cause me to faint.

I totally get that. I'm fine with looking at blood and even needles are ok, but it's really, really hard to take my blood. Because of this, every time I go in for a blood test the nurse has the needle stuck in my arm for at least a minute, usually more than once. Definitely feel a bit woozy after that.

It isn't blood, though, right? And also because it just appears, there's no injury to make it happen.
