Motion:

Before this sub is transferred to @system, all mods must pledge to support and abide by the constitution after the transfer as a condition of remaining on as moderators after the transfer.

I agree with this and I second it. I'm raising it today (I know I said yesterday, I just ended up getting busy - not trying to stall).

Rather than raise a motion to force them (which I guess would require unanimous agreement if the alternative consequence was standing them down), I'm simply going to ask them to pledge. I can't stop them from refusing, but that's no different to the motion itself getting defeated, except that some won't refuse. Hopefully that makes sense.

No. My motion is they either pledge to uphold the rules or they are out. The purpose of this is actually to help the transition.

The "constitution" is inherent. We all created it. Pledging is redundant, if one of us wants to break this set of rules, we will do it regardless of some meaningless pledge.

@reow

I made a motion: https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/comments/499925/2648171

Motion:

Before this sub is transferred to @system, all mods must pledge to support and abide by the constitution after the transfer as a condition of remaining on as moderators after the transfer.

It has been seconded: https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/comments/499925/2658805

Explanation of the logic behind this is here: https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/comments/499925/2655785

This is for the long term health of the sub and I apologize to @thegoldenboy if it started off in an aggressive manner. The community needs to see that the mod team (all of them) is committed to the constitution you all developed.

Motion to make all current mods publicly pledge to allow the users to continue to moderate content with their votes. If they are not willing to do this they should step down.

@Calorie-Kin, @Flux, @G4, @Kneegrow, @Mick, @Scandinavian, @thegoldenboy Do any of you second the motion?

@kevdude Personally I don't think it's necessary for people to pledge, and I don't like the idea of forcing people to make promises. Not that I have a vote, but I would vote against the motion personally - I don't think we should be excluding mods based on their beliefs, so long as they are willing to abide by the constitution. I also think that it's better to be fluid about these ideas in case something unforeseen comes about.

Against, our current rules are already Voat's user agreement. I see no point in this.

Just FYI, I don't get your pings (maybe the comma after the name does something to that?).

I'm voting in the thread, thanks for bringing it up.
