But is that because they are purely logical? Through pure logic, if you have nothing to strive for, you have no reason to do anything, thus having no drive. Unless, of course, you mean that everyone was trying to reach a goal through purely logical means. For example, reproducing.

Goals are more pre-programmed than self-determined, it's not like we've all decided we want to eat and fuck on our very own.

What I'm saying is that this pre-programmed-ness isn't really logic, and a purely logical being would lack it. I think for pure logic to exist there needs to be some sort of illogical goal to work towards.
