Because that's the popular thing to do. Black people are victims and white men are to blame for everyone's problems.

I wonder if it would change things if, let's say, a white police officer held a press conference and states that he is being persecuted by a racist press. The first guy would be called an ass, but the more people stood up for themselves, in the exact same way a black person does, it would calm down (or change considerably)

Doesn't matter unless thats the narrative the media wants to sell. They have way too much power and too many watch the news and adopt whatever opinions they are sold.

They'd just frame them all as being racist. Or simply refuse to cover said conferences.
